My New Do

When I started planning this kit there were grand plans for my daughter to get her second ever hair cut. That's right she's 6.5 years old and had only had 1 hair cut. Her first haircut was the day before she turned 4 years old. Her hair grows pretty slow and nobody wanted to cut her beautiful curls (except her) so it took a while for me to give in to her. After not finding any first haircut or hair related kits I liked I knew I had to make one. Unfortunately her second haircut got sidetracked by finding out she had caught lice at school and now she refuses to get her hair cut, my how the roles have changed.

Sweet Slumber Party

My daughter is finally getting to the age where we are thinking about sleepovers. Some of her friends started much earlier, some even as infants with sleepovers at grandparents houses but that was never really an option for us. She had one friend stay over here when she was four but it was a bit of a disaster as Deirdre is a night owl and her friend was an early bird. She's in sparks now (youngest level of Girl Guides, which is like USAs Girl Scouts but in Canada & UK), and her troupe is about to go on their second 2 night camping trip. Deirdres isn't ready to sleep away for this one either so I made a compromise and I drive her out the morning of her full day and pick her up at bedtime. Soon she will have her first sleepover at cousin Mackenzies though and hopefully get a few under her belt before the Science Centre Sleepover in a few months.

Chillin' Out

I don't know about you but our winter has been for the most part unseasonably warm. We always get Chinooks but it seems like we are spending more time above or hovering around freezing than below it. I'm not complaining I promise. Still after a very chilly trip to my dads after Christmas (-29C before the wind chill) where silly us went in the hot tub any how, I felt inclined to make a snuggly warm winter kit. La Petite Patisserie & Blog Train Freebie

One of my other passions that I don't ever mention really is American Girl Dolls. I'm fairly new to them but I love to sew clothes for them and sometimes sell a few.
